The printing press was brought to Detroit by Father Gabriel Richard.
Today Northern Express Weekly is
northern Michigan's largest weekly newspaper. The University of Michigan first published its
newspaper, called the Michigan Daily, in September 1890.
WWDT Channel 4 Detroit, now known as WDIV, was
Michigan's first television station to broadcast on October 23, 1946
was a one-day only demonstration. Regular broadcasting began in March 1947.
