White pioneer settled in Edwards Township on the Tittabawassee. In 1871 the Lansing and Saginaw Railroad company finished it line extending north to West Branch. This helped Ogemaw's lumbering industry because the rivers didn't provide enough transportation. In 1910 there was a major fire ending the logging era. Farming then and even today remains an important industry. There is some oil and gas production. |
